#2 took the form of a workshop and parade for children and adults as part of The Wedding of Art & Agriculture organised by Kultivator at their farm & art practice in Oland, Sweden in July 2010.
#2 was based on the Irish tradition of Strawboys, masked dancers who would traditionally gatecrash weddings and cause mischief. They wore suits made of oaten straw, consisting of a headpiece covering the face and shoulders, and, either a long coat, or a vest and skirt. Straw suits were also worn as a disguise in earlier centuries during agrarian agitation.
Danish artist Mia Sloth Moller, together with Fiona Woods and a number of visiting children and adults, created costumes from hay (no straw available!) and stormed The Wedding, generating a cacophonous sound using domestic and farm implements.
